Who We Are
Impact Iran is a coalition of 19 non-governmental organizations committed to advocating for human rights and driving positive change in Iran. Our coalition represents a diverse group of passionate individuals and organizations committed to amplifying the voices of Iranian civil society on the global stage. Each member organization brings unique expertise and experience to our collective mission, creating a powerful force for advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals in Iran.
What We Do
At Impact Iran, we are dedicated to empowering Iranian civil society to engage effectively with a spectrum of multilateral institutions, not limited to the UN, to advocate for accountability and encourage the implementation of Iran’s international human rights obligations. Through strategic public advocacy campaigns targeting member states of various multilateral institutions, as well as impactful high-level dialogues and engagement with international human rights mechanisms (i.e., UN Human Rights Council, Treaty Bodies, and Special Procedures), we strive to hold the Iranian government accountable for its human rights violations and push for positive change in policies and practices.
In addition to our advocacy efforts, Impact Iran works with grassroots organizations to support their work. We provide resources and training opportunities to strengthen their capacity for effective advocacy and empower them to advocate for their rights and the rights of others. Through this collaboration, we aim to build a stronger, more resilient civil society in Iran that can effectively demand accountability and promote human rights.
Our Impact
Since our establishment in 2014, Impact Iran has made significant strides in promoting human rights and advocating for accountability within Iran. Our advocacy campaigns have generated widespread attention and sparked important discussions at high-level international forums. We have also successfully facilitated meaningful engagement between Iranian civil society organizations and key multilateral institutions, providing a platform for their voices to be heard.
Through our support of grassroots organizations, we have seen tangible changes, such as increased access to information and resources for marginalized communities and improved collaboration among civil society groups in Iran. By empowering and amplifying the voices of those most affected by human rights violations in Iran, we can create a lasting impact and drive positive change for all individuals living in Iran.
